About the Author, Mark Simonson
In addition to freelance writing for The Daily Star, Mark Simonson also conducts
other freelance writing and public relations projects. He is available for new projects or
consultations, upon request. |
Prior to returning to Oneonta, Simonson had an extensive career in public relations,
marketing, and broadcast journalism.
Mark earned an A.A.S. degree in Broadcast Management from Onondaga Community College in
Syracuse, as well as a B.S. degree in Business Administration from SUNY College at Oswego.
Simonson is a former radio news director at WKXZ/WCHN in Norwich, as well as
WMRV/WENE in Endicott. He was a highly successful fund raiser and marketing specialist at such
non-profits as the South Central New York Chapter of the March of Dimes, The American Heart
Association, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society-Massachusetts Chapter, and more recently
with The West Kortright Centre and Hanford Mills Museum.
Currently, Mr. Simonson is active with the Greater Oneonta Historical Society.
He is a member of the Communications Association of the Southern Tier (CAST), and a member of
The Otsego County Chamber.
